What happens during a hearing test?

The audiologist takes a short history, looks in both ears with an otoscope, then runs pure-tone audiometry, speech-in-noise testing and tympanometry inside a sound booth. It takes about an hour and none of it is uncomfortable. You get your audiogram explained on the same visit and a printed copy to take away.

How much does testing cost?

A 30-minute screening is free and tells you whether a full assessment is worth doing. The full diagnostic assessment with audiogram and written report is AED 350, and that fee is credited against a hearing aid purchase made within 60 days. Tinnitus assessment is AED 500.

What do hearing aids cost?

Between AED 3,900 and AED 14,500 per ear, depending on the technology level rather than the brand. Entry-level devices handle quiet one-to-one conversation well; the higher levels are for people who need to follow speech in restaurants, meetings and traffic noise. The price includes fitting, custom programming and the first year of follow-up visits.

Can I try hearing aids before buying?

Yes. Every fitting includes a 30-day trial in your own life, not just in the clinic. If you return them within the 30 days we refund everything except a AED 300 fitting fee. Most people come back once or twice in that period for fine tuning, which is included.

What aftercare do you provide?

The first twelve months of check-ups, cleaning and reprogramming are included with any device we fit. After that the Clearsound Care plan is AED 950 per year per patient and covers unlimited adjustments, twice-yearly cleaning, an annual retest, wax filters and domes, and priority repair handling. Devices carry a three-year manufacturer warranty and two-year loss and damage cover.

Do you remove earwax?

We do microsuction wax removal, which is done under a microscope with no water and no syringing. It is AED 400 for both ears or AED 250 for one, and takes about 30 minutes. If the ear is too inflamed to treat safely on the day, we stop and refer you to an ENT doctor rather than proceeding.

Do you test children?

We test from four years upwards using play audiometry and standard testing depending on the child. Under-fours and any child with a suspected medical cause are referred to a paediatric ENT clinic, as that work needs a hospital setting. A child assessment takes 45 minutes and costs AED 400.

Will my insurance cover this?

Diagnostic testing is covered by several UAE plans, but hearing aids themselves are excluded from most policies. We are a direct billing provider for a limited number of insurers and can issue a coded invoice and audiology report for reimbursement claims on any plan. Bring your insurance card to the appointment.

How soon can I be seen?

Screenings and diagnostic assessments are usually available within two to three days, and we hold same-day slots for sudden hearing loss, which should be treated as urgent. The clinic is open Saturday to Thursday and closed on Fridays. Book through this chat and we will confirm by email and SMS.
