How much is an eye test and what does it include?

A comprehensive eye exam is AED 250 and takes about 40 minutes. It covers vision and refraction, eye pressure, binocular vision and a digital retinal photograph, and you leave with a written prescription you can use anywhere. If you go on to buy glasses with us the same day, AED 100 of the exam fee is credited against the order.

Do you bill my insurance directly?

We direct bill Daman, AXA, Oman Insurance, MetLife and Now Health for optometry consultations, and most plans also cover a lens allowance once a year. Bring your card and Emirates ID and the front desk runs the approval before you are seen. If your plan is not on the list you pay us and we issue a coded invoice you can claim back.

Can I book with a specific optometrist?

Yes. Dr. Nadia Haddad handles paediatric vision, dry eye and complex contact lens fittings, and Ravi Menon covers routine exams, myopia checks and diabetic screening. Pick whoever you want when you book here and I will only show you slots that person actually has open.

At what age should my child have their first eye test?

We see children from three years old, and a children's vision assessment is AED 200 for 30 minutes using picture charts rather than letters. School-age children should be checked once a year, especially if their prescription is changing quickly. I can book it, but any question about whether a symptom needs a doctor should go to Dr. Haddad in the room, not to me.

What do glasses cost here?

Frames start at AED 450 and go up to around AED 2,400 for designer ranges. Single-vision lenses with anti-reflective coating are AED 300 a pair, and progressives run AED 1,200 to AED 2,800 depending on the lens design. Glazing takes three to five working days and we fit and adjust them free for as long as you own them.

Do you fit contact lenses?

We do. A contact lens fitting is AED 400 and covers the assessment, trial lenses and a teaching session on insertion, removal and hygiene, plus a follow-up check two weeks later at no extra charge. A three-month supply of monthly disposables is around AED 420, and we can set up a repeat order you collect or have delivered.

I have diabetes — do you do retinal screening?

Yes, a diabetic retinal screening is AED 300 and takes 30 minutes including fundus imaging. We send a report to your treating physician and recommend the screening once a year. Bring sunglasses if we need to dilate, because your vision stays blurry for two to three hours afterwards and you should not drive.

What are your opening hours and where do I park?

Saturday to Thursday 10:00am to 8:00pm, closed Friday. We are on Jumeirah Beach Road near Jumeirah Plaza with free customer parking behind the building and paid street parking in front. Evening slots after 6:00pm are the first to fill, so book those a week ahead.

What if I need to cancel or I am running late?

Cancel or move an appointment free up to four hours before. Inside four hours or a no-show, we charge AED 100 against your next visit. If you are more than fifteen minutes late we will usually still see you but may shorten the exam or move you to the next free slot.
