What does a rooftop solar system cost?

A typical 10kWp villa system supplied and installed is AED 38,000 to AED 46,000 depending on roof type and cable runs. A 50kWp commercial rooftop runs AED 150,000 to AED 180,000, and warehouse installations above 200kWp come in around AED 2.6 to AED 3.0 per watt. All prices include panels, inverters, mounting, DEWA paperwork and commissioning.

How do you size a system for my property?

We work from twelve months of DEWA or ADDC bills to find your annual consumption and peak months, then size to offset roughly 70 to 90 percent of it. Roof area and shading set the ceiling: allow about 6 square metres of usable roof per kWp. Send me a photo of a recent bill in chat and I can give you an indicative size and price straight away.

What is the payback period?

Most Dubai villa systems pay back in six to eight years, and commercial or warehouse systems in four to six years because their daytime load matches solar generation better. A 10kWp villa system typically saves AED 5,500 to AED 7,000 per year at current DEWA slab tariffs. We give you a written payback model with your quote, based on your actual bills.

Do you handle the DEWA Shams Dubai approvals?

Yes, and it is included in the price. We are a DEWA-enrolled Shams Dubai contractor and consultant, so we submit the design, obtain the connection approval, coordinate the net meter installation and handle the final inspection. Approval to energisation normally takes four to six weeks after the design is submitted.

How long does installation take?

A villa system takes two to three days on site once panels arrive, and a 50kWp commercial rooftop takes about a week. The full timeline from signed contract to a working net meter is typically eight to ten weeks, with DEWA approval being the longest step. We schedule the physical work around your operations.

What warranties do I get?

Panels carry a 12-year product warranty and a 25-year performance warranty guaranteeing at least 84 percent output at year 25. String inverters carry 10 years and hybrid inverters 5 to 10 years depending on model. Our own installation workmanship and mounting structure are warranted for 5 years.

Do I need batteries?

Usually not. Under Shams Dubai your surplus exports to the grid and is credited on your bill, so a battery mostly adds cost rather than savings. We fit batteries where you need genuine backup during outages or you are off-grid; a 10kWh lithium battery adds roughly AED 22,000 to AED 28,000 installed.

How much maintenance does a system need?

Panels need cleaning four to six times a year in the UAE because of dust, otherwise you lose 10 to 20 percent of output. An annual maintenance contract covering six cleans, an inverter health check and a thermal scan is AED 1,800 for a villa system and from AED 6,500 for commercial rooftops. Monitoring is free for life via the inverter portal.

Do you work outside Dubai?

Yes. We install across Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman, and in Abu Dhabi under the ADDC and Etihad Water and Electricity rooftop schemes, which have their own approval process and timelines. Ras Al Khaimah is covered through the RAKEZ and FEWA schemes. Sites outside Dubai carry a survey fee of AED 750, credited against the contract.
