Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our services.
Can the chat assistant answer my tax question directly?
No. This assistant gives no tax or financial advice of any kind, and nothing it says should be relied on for a filing decision. What it does is collect your business details, licence type, turnover and deadline, then book you with a consultant who can advise properly.
When do I have to register for VAT?
Registration is mandatory once taxable supplies pass AED 375,000 in the previous twelve months or are expected to in the next thirty days, and voluntary from AED 187,500. Our VAT registration consultation is AED 900 for 45 minutes and covers eligibility, grouping and the documents the FTA will want. Late registration carries an administrative penalty, so bring your revenue figures to the call.
What are the filing deadlines I should have in my diary?
VAT returns are due 28 days after the end of each tax period, which is quarterly for most businesses and monthly above AED 150 million in turnover. Corporate tax returns and payment fall nine months after the financial year end, so a December year end files by 30 September. We put both dates in a written calendar for every retained client.
How much is corporate tax and does it apply to us?
Corporate tax is zero on the first AED 375,000 of taxable income and 9 percent above it, with free zone entities able to claim 0 percent on qualifying income if they meet the QFZP conditions. Small Business Relief is available where revenue stays under AED 3 million per period. The 60-minute impact assessment is AED 1,500 and tells you which of these actually applies to your structure.
What does a VAT return review cost?
A single return review is AED 1,200 for 60 minutes, including a reconciliation of your output and input tax against the trial balance. Ongoing quarterly VAT compliance is AED 3,600 per quarter for companies filing under 300 transactions a month. Anything above that is scoped after we see a sample month.
The FTA has sent us a notice — what now?
Book the audit support consultation at AED 1,800 and forward the notice and reference number ahead of the call. We will read the notice, work out what is actually being asked and set the response timetable, because FTA deadlines on notices are short and rarely extended. Do not send a partial reply before that conversation.
What documents should I bring to the first meeting?
Trade licence, Emirates ID and passport of the authorised signatory, the last twelve months of revenue figures, your existing FTA portal login if you have one, and your most recent trial balance or bank statements. Free zone companies should also bring the licence activity list. The more of that arrives beforehand, the more of the hour is spent on advice.
Are you an approved tax agent?
Yes, our lead consultant is a Federal Tax Authority registered tax agent, which means we can act on your behalf in the FTA portal and correspond with them for you. We also handle bookkeeping handover if your records are behind. Audit work itself is referred out to an independent audit firm.
Can I reschedule or cancel a consultation?
Yes, free of charge with 24 hours notice through this chat or your confirmation email. Inside 24 hours or a no-show is charged at half the session fee. Consultations run at our Deira office or over video, whichever you prefer.
