Is this a winery? Do you make the wine here?

No — nothing is grown or fermented in the UAE. We are a licensed tasting room, so we import from small independent growers in France, Italy, Portugal, South Africa, Georgia and Australia and pour them here under guided flights. Our head sommelier visits the producers each year, and roughly forty labels on the list are not carried anywhere else in Dubai.

What does a tasting cost?

The Discovery flight is five 50ml pours for AED 190 and runs about an hour. The Old World flight is six pours for AED 265, and the Collector flight, which includes two aged reds, is AED 420. All three include water, bread and a cheese plate, and the sommelier walks the table through each pour.

How old do I have to be?

Twenty-one, with a valid passport, Emirates ID or driving licence — we card everyone who looks under thirty and there are no exceptions. Guests under 21 are welcome in the room with an adult but can only be served the alcohol-free flight. That flight is AED 95 and uses grape musts and de-alcoholised bottlings, not soft drinks.

Can I buy a bottle to take home?

No. Our licence covers consumption on the premises only, so everything opened here is finished or left here. Taking sealed bottles home in Dubai means buying from a licensed retail shop, which has its own rules and paperwork. We are happy to write down what you liked so you can look for it there.

Do you close during Ramadan or on dry days?

We stay open through Ramadan but service shifts to evenings only, typically from sunset, and the room is kept quiet with no live music. On the small number of days each year designated as dry by the authorities we do not serve alcohol at all, and we either run the alcohol-free flight or close. Anything booked on a day that turns out to be dry is moved or refunded in full.

Do you run private tastings or corporate events?

Yes. The back room seats sixteen for a private guided tasting at AED 320 per guest with a minimum of ten, and the full room takes forty seated or sixty standing. Corporate bookings can add a themed masterclass — Rhône, Douro or natural wine — for AED 1,500 on top. Give us two weeks for anything needing specific bottles imported.

Is there a membership or a package?

The Cellar Card is AED 1,200 for six flights used within twelve months, which works out cheaper than paying per visit and is transferable to a guest. Members also get first access to producer dinners and 15 percent off private room hire. It is a prepaid package, not a subscription, so nothing renews automatically.

Do you serve food?

Not a full menu. Every flight includes bread, olives and a cheese plate chosen to sit with the pours, and you can add a charcuterie board for AED 120 or a larger sharing platter for AED 220. If you want a proper dinner, book the 6:30pm tasting and we will point you at somewhere in the Gate Village afterwards.

Where do I park and how do I find you?

We are on the ground floor of Gate Village Building 4 in DIFC. Basement parking in Gate Village is free for the first hour and AED 20 per hour after, and valet is available at the Gate Avenue entrance. The nearest metro is Financial Centre Station, about eight minutes on foot through the air-conditioned link.
